File No. 7697 Joseph PHILLIPS, Weston, Collin Co. Texas
Date of Application: 20 September 1899. Age 63. Has resided in Collin Co. since 1865. Basket maker; health very poor. Served Company E, L.H. Grinslead”s? Regt., 3 ½ years, from Spring after war began till its close. Property: 4.19 acres of land near Weston worth $75, 2 horses worth $15 each, l cow worth $20, household goods worth $25. Witnesses: H.S. FOX, and J.S. DICKEY, of Grayson Co., Texas. J. W. PHILLIPS of Cooke Co., Texas, has known applicant for 64 years in Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas, and attests to his military service. Dr. B.F. SPENCER states that applicant suffers from rheumatism which has affected the heart and which produces frequent nervous prostration.
