2. George Weaks (1798-1850) m. 1828 Jane C. Caldwell (1808-78); Gibson C. Hedrick (1814-42) m. 1833 Isabella Kinny (1811-86).
3. James Caldwell (1772-1844) m. 1795 Ruth Penelope Davidson (1776-1815); John Hedrick (d. 1843) m. 1813 Nancy Clarke (1797-1833).
4. David Caldwell m. 1766 Rachel Craighead (1739-1825); Gibson Clarke (1772-
1820).
5. Elijah Clarke m. Hannah Arlington (1737-1827).
-David Caldwell (1725-1824) was a member of the Constitutional Convention of North Carolina, 1776; a patriotic preacher and teacher, constantly harassed by Tories. He was born in Lancaster County, Pa.; died in Mecklenburg County, N. C.
-Rachel Craighead Caldwell (1739-1825) was a patriot of the Revolution. She was born in Lancaster County, Pa.; died in Guilford County, N.C.
-Elijah Clarke (1736-99) served from Georgia as captain of a company of rangers and rose to the rank of brigadier-general. He was born in North Carolina; died in Wilkes County, Ga.
-Hannah Arrington Clarke (1737-1827) was a patriot, whose home was burned by the British and on her way to nurse her wounded husband, her horse was shot by the enemy. She was born in North Carolina; died in Wilkes County, Ga.
