PITTS PHILLIPS,
Representative from Oakland county in 1837, was born in the state of New York April 24, 1792. Lived in Stafford and Sempronius, N. Y., and married Mary Daniels at the latter place. He settled in Southfield, Mich., in 1830. Was supervisor in 1836, and held the office of justice both in New York and Michigan. By occupation a farmer and cooper, in politics first a Whig, then an Abolitionist. Died April 10, 1842.
