1863: Mdme. Lizzie Phillips Arrested - TN.

March 26, 1863 - Mdme. Lizzie Phillips' Stand-up Fight
"A Woman in a Fight."
Lizzie Phillips is the keeper of a house, which, for morality, does not stand
above suspicion. It is no uncommon occurrence for fights to take place
immediately under Lizzie's supervision, and it is said she is as fond of a row as
any of the so____[illegible] daughters of the Emerald Isle. Quietness has or
sometime taken complete possession of her establishment. This was not what
Lizzie desired, and, to uses her own world, "could stand it no longer" the result
of which was, she got up from a fight yesterday on her own account, was
arrested, and [ordered?] to [put up] bail for her appearance before the recorder
to-day in the sum of $25. Lizzie says she is innocent.
