Born in Minden, N. Y.
Descendant of Jacobus Van Slyck, as follows:
1. George Phillips , Jr. (b. 1854), m. 1882 Jennie Hollis (b. 1861).
2. George Phillips (1820-97) m. 1848 Elmira Hadcock (1825-62).
3. Nicholas Hadcock (1797-1827) m. 1818 Catherine Van Slyck (1802-39).
4. Jacobus Van Slyck, Jr. (1780-1820), m. 1800 Elizabeth Stauring (1782-1825).
5. Jacobus Van Slyck m. 1778 Gertrude Windecker (1756-95).
Jacobus Van Slyck was in the battle of Oriskany; also served in the Tryon County militia, Col. Peter Bellinger's 4th regiment. He died in Manheim, N. Y.
