Of the listings of EKA (earliest known ancestor) for members of Group 11, the earliest is Michael Phillips and Barbara Pierce, England to Rhode Island, 1600's. I have found reference to Michael Phillips as a son of John Phillips and Mary Street, who also died in New England. Further, I have found reference at on line data bases, World Connect Project and Familysearch.org, suggesting that John Phillips had another wife, Mary Gerrard, by whom there was a son, Henry Phillips born 1629, and migrated from England to Henrico, Virginia. While I do not trust the reliability of all the entries to these data bases, it does appear possible that this would account for the northern and southern branches of our Family Group. Yes, some of the entries are just mind bending. Any thoughts on this logic?

I am still searching for "missing links" between your lineages and mine.

Hi, Bob,

You are right to not trust the info you find in those internet files. I have researched this particular Henry Phillips and I don't believe he ever lived in Virginia. I have not found any references to him in the records of Virginia.

Here is some info about him that I found at this link: www.conovergenealogy.com/...p/p168.htm

Henry Phillips was the son of John Phillips and Mary Ruth Gerrard. Henry Phillips was born on 19-Jan-1630/31 at Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. He married Mary Dwight, daughter of John Dwight and Abigail Mann, on 24-Jun-1653 at Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Henry Phillips died on 17-Apr-1701 at age 70.

Of course, this info could also be wrong but at least it supplies some exact dates and places that could be researched to either confirm or disprove it.

Sincerely,
Nancy Kiser
