Hello cousins!
I'm trying to find evidence of the Williams -> Williams -> Zackariah trio. I believe that I have stuff back to Joseph F. Phillips but after that the literature gets pretty thin. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Are you talking about Joseph Phillips of Georgia who was born about 1760 and was married first to Jane Walker and second to Patsey or Betsey Hall? If so, I can send you a lot of information. What is your email address? You can contact me directly at nancy2kiser at yahoo dot com.

Most likely not- I'll be posting my family tree elsewhere but I'll summarize it here:
What I have:
Myself
My dad
My grandfather, John Walter Phillips (Alabama)
James Monroe Phillips (Alabama)
John Phillips (Alabama)
Joseph F. Phillips (Alabama)
William Phillips (Georgia to Alabama)
John Phillips (Georgia to Alabama)

I'm looking for:
Zachariah Phillips (Virginia to likely Georgia)
William Phillips (Virginia)
William Phillips (Virginia)

So I don't believe that your Joseph is the right one, but I appreciate your attempt at least!

Hi, pjdonovan,

It looks like you are talking about John Phillips who was born about 1753 and who married Elizabeth Drewry. Family legend says he was the son of Zachary Phillips and that he (John Phillips) was born in Wilkinson Co GA. However, Wilkinson Co GA did not exist in 1753 and the DNA of two descendants of John and Elizabeth Drewry Phillips has been DNA tested and their DNA matches the DNA of two men who descend from Zachariah Phillips who was born about 1735 in Anson Co NC. Therefore it appears that Zachary Phillips who was supposedly born in 1720 is the same person as Zachariah Phillips who was supposedly born about 1735 in Anson Co NC. They belong to Phillips Family DNA Group 8 and I can send you considerable information about this Phillips family, because it is my Phillips family group. By the way, if you will look at the pedigree of the participant who is identified as ANC15, you will see that he has the same Phillips pedigree as you do. ANC15 is in Family Group 8.

Sincerely,
Nancy Kiser
